OCCURRENCE - Dancing with Tricksters

The Very Strange Story of William F. Blume

About

FEATURED FOREWORD BY JOSHUA CUTCHIN

One of today’s leading voices in High Strangeness, Joshua Cutchin is the acclaimed author of Ecology of Souls, A Trojan Feast, and Fourth Wall Phantoms. His research explores UFOs, folklore, consciousness, and the paranormal, and he has appeared on Ancient Aliens, The Why Files, and Coast to Coast AM. His foreword opens OCCURRENCE with a compelling perspective on William F. Blume’s extraordinary experiences.

Occurrence - Dancing with Tricksters: The Very Strange Story of William F. Blume is more than a memoir—it’s a spellbinding journey into the heart of the unknown. UFOs. Non-human intelligence and the delicate balance between science and mysticism. But these are just the inner threads that merge into this inexplicable true story of a raw, unvarnished, human experience.

Under his pseudonym, Blume is willing to open the door to his labyrinth of encounters—events that challenge not only the boundaries of his reality but also the evolution of his soul. But this is not a tale of pat answers. From the preface onward, OCCURRENCE draws you into William’s early life with unflinching honesty and fragmented, lyrical prose, pulling you ever deeper into the mystery. The ebook enriches the experience with numerous full-color chapter-opening images, while the paperback includes a curated selection reproduced in black and white.

Each Occurrence—peels back another layer of Blume’s strange and extraordinary encounters. As the story begins, The Airship. Mom Irons Things Out, The Light in the Trees—these feel like moments you’ve almost remembered, but there’s always something shimmering, whispering beneath the surface, unsettling and otherworldly. Blume’s gift lies in weaving the familiar with the alien, daring you to trace the hidden threads he’s left behind.

Know that this is a book that asks something of you. There are no tidy, spoon-fed answers or self-assured resolutions like so many others in this subject matter. Instead, the author trusts you to meet him in the middle, to wrestle with the ambiguity, to feel the disquiet of what cannot be explained.

This is not just a story—it’s a reflection of the inexplicable itself: close enough to glimpse, but never fully within reach.
Beneath the eerie encounters, OCCURRENCE - Dancing with Tricksters is a deeply human story about meaning… finding your place in a universe that rarely makes sense. Blume wrestles with his experiences, weaving them through Gnostic concepts, reincarnation, and the fragile beauty of existence. The symbols, the tangents, the questions—all tug at you, drawing you toward what lies beyond the thin veil of reality.

This isn’t a book for the faint-hearted. It will pull you out of your comfort zone, forcing you to confront the unknown head-on. Yet, in its raw honesty, there’s something deeply, strangely comforting. By revealing his fears, doubts, and the ineffable human desire to understand, Blume reminds us we’re not alone.

By the final chapter, you’ll feel the weight of the journey—his and yours—and the call to look beyond the known. In his closing reflections, you’ll sense the merge, the esoteric and the personal, challenging us to forge deeper connections with the Divine and the cosmos itself. But this is only the beginning. His next volume, Occurrence: Hunting Dragons, promises to venture even deeper into the mysteries. For those who’ve glimpsed the truths hidden in these pages and the cracks and crannies of your own mind, this next step may be irresistible.

Praise for this book

5 Stars - Compelling Storytelling!
I found this book a fascinating two-part journey, beginning with vivid depictions of extraordinary childhood encounters with multiple non-human entities. In the must-read final 3 chapters, Blume turns to what I thought to be vivid and thought-provoking visions of humanity’s cyclical fate of birth, death, and rebirth rooted in our enduring struggle with the pain and condemnation of original sin.

5 Stars - WOW, just WOWW!
William Blume's story is incredible and the way he tells it is so unique and refreshing. He states up front that he hasn't shared these "occurrences" with anyone for fear of ridicule; his hesitation is palpable. There's something in the way he writes that feels so honest and almost vulnerable.
I cannot recommend this book enough!
Actually, I would not at all be surprised if this ends up on the big screen!

5 Stars - So Fun!
Gripping and unpredictable, the narrative keeps the reader questioning reality while uncovering profound truths. His honesty and vulnerability make this not just a fascinating read but an inspiring one. For anyone drawn to the mystical and extraordinary, this book is a must-read, challenging perceptions and inviting readers to embrace the unknown.

5 Stars - Riveting!
The author has done an excellent job with this book. Mystery, puzzle solving , thrilling and weaving in a personal story. Amazing and riveting. Clearly a story worth a movie ! Can’t wait to get more from the author

5 Stars - Reality is Stranger Than Fiction!
I've read a few accounts of extraterrestrial experiences and this book was above and beyond. Well-crafted prose kept me riveted as the story unfolded, revealing more and more. I read the entire book in one sitting. Whether you believe in life out there or not, suspend judgment and read this book!

5 Stars - A Thought Provoking Read!
Occurrence is a captivating read where the author captures the essence of the child's mind told through the intellect of the man, grown. For the skeptic, it provides a thought provoking look into the psyche of the human experience. For the believer, it paints a colorful insight of a remarkable journey of the cosmos. For the similarly affected, it lends validation and perhaps even comfort to a shared experience. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be invigorated with and encouraged by the idea so many of us share about the prospect of there being something "more" to our human condition and our place among the universe.
